The number of unaccompanied minors being referred to Tusla by the International Protection Office has been described as 'heartbreaking'.
250 children under the age of 18 have been referred to the Child and Family Agency to be processed since the start of last year.
Of those, 100 have come from Afghanistan and a further 81 from Somalia.
