Some farmers could lose up to 25% of their CAP payments, under a provisional deal agreed yesterday.

EU agriculture ministers are due to sign off on the new Common Agricultural Policy when they meet in Luxembourg next week.

It had been proposed to set aside 20% of the budget for eco-schemes, to reduce emissions from farming.
