Plans for regional development in the new Programme for Government are being welcomed by Laois Chamber of Commerce.
Its CEO, Bernie Everard, says the focus on ten centres of balanced regional development and infrastructure, particularly public transport and housing, is welcome in the midlands.
She says they'll need to assess the measures included in the document fully, but says they're relieved that long-awaited progress has been made.
Ms. Everard says the business sector will need all the support it can get in the post-covid climate:
