A Laois Councillor is being celebrated for 40 years of public service.
Rosenallis' Seamus McDonald was first elected to the council in 1985 and has since maintained his position after eight elections.
He was recognised during the monthly meeting held by the local authority, with friends and family taking the time to celebrate his contributions over five decades.
Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council Barry Walsh praised Mr McDonald for his work and commitment to communities across the county.
