They're taking on a new challenge from Durrow's Bernard O'Shea.
Some Laois gardaí are swapping out checkpoints for the stage.
Comedian Bernard O'Shea is embarking on a three-part TV series that sees him follow zookeepers, railway workers and gardaí, to find the lighter side to what they do.
In turn, the Durrow man is inviting them to try their hand at stand-up comedy.
Garda Sarah McInerney, based in Mountrath, hopes it'll challenge the public perception of An Garda Síochána:
Bernard's Working Comics airs on RTÉ 2 television at 9.30 tonight.
