The possibility of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland developing a regional centre in the Midlands is being raised in the dail.
Laois Sinn Fein TD Brian Stanley put the question of creating such a facility to Minister for disabilities Finian McGrath.
At the moment there's no specialist beds for ABI outside of Dublin.
It's estimated that it would cost around €5m to get the project up and running.
