It comes as An Post are raising stamp, mail and bulk letter prices.
A Longford-Westmeath deputy wants to see the services of the post office retained for the future.
It comes as the price of stamps, registered mail and bulk letters are all set to increase by 20 cent from €1.65 to €1.85 on February 3rd.
An Post said the increases are intended to protect nationwide delivery services and ensure equal access to letter services across the country.
