The €114m Athlone Scheme is expected to see waste flows turned into the new sewer network by October.

All tunnelling is now finished with reinstatement works underway across the town.
Works along The Quays have also been completed while the construction of the Golden Island pumping station shaft construction is done with mechanical and electrical installations still progressing.
The Coosan West Pumping Station is also now in operation, providing enhanced wastewater management capacity for the area.
The main works taking place over the next number of weeks involve cross connections between the existing and the new network.
Midlands 103 has received confirmation the Strand Carpark will re-open in October.
At that stage Athlone's Main Drainage project team will begin will public realm enhancements on Custume Place.
