It's on a turkey farm in Co. Meath.
The agriculture minister confirmed last night that avian influenza has been detected in a flock of turkeys near Kells in Co. Meath.
A 3 kilometre protection zone and a 10 kilometre surveillance zone is now in place around the site.
Its the latest positive confirmation of H5N1 comes after the virus was found on a turkey farm in Carlow, and in birds at the Fota Wildlife park in Cork which has been temporarily closed.
Its now feared birdflu may have spread to other flocks across the country - with the Irish Farmers Association asking poulty owners to adopt a 'laser like focus' on biosecurity measures.
An order forcing all owners of commercial flocks and captive birds to keep their birds inside comes into effect on Monday.
