An Offaly councillor has challenged his colleagues to get a energy assessment of their own home before giving out about the cost of retrofitting.
The Green Party's Mark Hackett thinks councillors who sit in meetings and say retrofitting is 'out of reach', month after month, are part of the problem.
He says it's ironic that local politicians wanted to be associated with the expansion of a retrofitting training centre at Mount Lucas in Offaly last week, while also claiming the measure is 'not the solution' for home-owners.
