Midlands Emergency Department Is Extremely Busy Again Today

Patients that require urgent care will be prioritised.

The Emergency Department at the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar is extremely busy again today.

People are being asked to consider their options before attending the Adult and Paediatric EDs as patients that require urgent care will be prioritised.

Patients, who are over the age of 16, are reminded that they can attend the Regional Hospital Mullingar Minor Injury Unit located at Charter Medical Private Hospital in Ballinderry, Mullingar, if they have the following injuries:

• Suspected broken bones to arm (from collar bone to fingertip)

• Suspected broken bones in legs (from knees to toes)

• Sprains and strains

• Wounds, bites (animal or insect) cuts, grazes and scalp laceration

• Minor burns and scalds

• Foreign bodies

• Minor chest injuries

The hospital's management would like to thank the public for their support and understanding in these times.
