Mullingar Regional Hospital’s adult emergency department is busy this morning.
In a statement to Midlands 103, hospital management is asking people to avoid the ED today if possible.
The hospital is "in escalation" and staff are working to manage the current adult in-patient capacity, along with scheduled care.
If you do come to ED and are not triaged as seriously ill, you may need to wait for a long period to be seen.
Patients who require urgent care will be prioritised.
