There has been yet another fall in the number of electric cars in the midlands.
So far this year, just under 400 EVs have been registered in the region, the highest number in Westmeath at 160, a fall of over 32% when compared to the same time in 2023.
In Offaly the number declined by 33% and in Laois it fell by more than 23%.
3,417 electric cars were registered nationwide in July, down from over 4,000 for the same month in 2023.
