Movement breaks for Pearl Carroll's son Harry have been cut short after his school was denied extra SNA resources.
A six year old Midlands student is missing out on vital classroom supports after his school was denied additional Special Needs Assistant resources.
Senior Infants pupil Harry Carroll, has an autism diagnosis and although his school is not losing an SNA, a recent request for increased allocation due to growing demand was refused.
It comes after the Government halted a review of SNA allocations that resulted in close to 200 schools being notified of reductions to assistant positions.
At a parent teacher meeting last month, Harry’s mother Pearl Carroll who's from Taughmaconnell was told he is no longer receiving the regulation and movement breaks that previously helped him stay settled and engaged.
She says the issue affects every child in the classroom:
