LARCC Westmeath has seen rising numbers of newpeople requiring their services over the last year.
A Westmeath cancer support centre has seen the number of new people requiring their services jump by almost 20% in one year.
LARCC Manager in Multyfarnham, Bernie McHugh, believes the increase in people seeking out support suggests more and more people are catching their cancer diagnosis through screening, and can therefore hope for more positive outcomes.
Service managers like Ms McHugh are pointing to the State's committment in Budget 2025 to fund the sector on a recurrent basis.
She says the move will help them plan for the future, but they still need to fundraise massive amounts to survive:
