The figures for 2024 are still ahead of those from 2023.
Housing commencements by the midlands local authorities slowed down in November.
Despite the drop off, the figures are already ahead of the end of year statistics for 2023.
The construction of 8 homes was started in Laois, down from 103 last month, and down from 76 this time last year.
In Offaly the figure for last month was just 6, again, down from 35 the month previous, and 10 from November 2023.
There were 10 commencements in Westmeath where the county council managed 49 in October, and 29 for November of last year.
The good news however is that commencements are already ahead of the end of year stats for last year with another month to come.
Westmeath County Council is 51 per cent up on their 12 month figure for 2023, Laois is 31 per cent up, while Offaly is up just 5 per cent.
