Offaly Town Could Be Waiting Four Years Before Any New Homes Are Built

The local authority has no land to develop new homes in the area.

Offaly County Council has no land available to develop new homes in Edenderry. 

There was no response in the town to two calls for expressions of interest in the last two years. 

The local authority says it's in discussions with some developers about other sites but does not have land of its own. 

Local councillor Noel Cribbin says there are over 200 people on the housing waiting list in the town.

The Fine Gael rep believes it could be at least four years before development begins:
