Offaly Vintner Federation Chairman Says Majority Of Pubs Remaining Closed

The chair of the Vintners' Federation of Ireland in Offaly says the majority of pubs are not reopening today.

A survey conducted last week found only 15 per cent of respondents are open their doors, after an over three month shutdown.

Only pubs that serve food can resume business, with Phase 3 of the lifting of covid-19 restrictions today.

John Clendennen - who also runs Giltrap's Pub and Glamping in Kinnitty - says it's up to individual publicans to interpret the guidelines as they see fit, but that most pubs won't be reopening until July 20th:
