Midlands fire services are tackling forest, bog and gorse fires as a result of an on-going dry spell.

Met Éireann have issued an 'absolute drought' warning, as the country has seen little or no rainfall over two weeks.

Rain is forecast for this weekend, but it's expected that won't make much difference to the current dry conditions.
