The people of Westmeath are rallying together to provide a gym for healthcare workers.
Organisers of the new fundraiser contacted the the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar, offering give something back to those working on the frontline during the pandemic.
Plans had been in place to install a gym for hospital staff, but they've since been deferred due to the virus outbreak.
A GoFundMe page has now been set up to help raise money for the project.
Longford-Westmeath TD Robert Troy - one of those behind the idea - says they want to give back to those who are sacrificing so much:
Over €2,000 has been raised online so far.
