Portuguese Police Consider Reopening Investigation Into Rape Of Westmeath Resident

The incident happened in 2004.

Police in Portugal are re-opening an investigation into the rape of a Westmeath resident in 2004.

Hazel Behan was violently assaulted in 2004 while working in Portugal.

She previously says she noticed similarities between her case and the rape of another woman by a man in custody in Germany.

The Irish Independent reports that Portuguese officials collected archived files earlier this week in order to reopen her case.
