An Offaly community has done 'more than its fair share' when it comes to taking in asylum seekers, according to a Laois Offaly TD.
It comes as 88 beds are to be made available for International Protection Applicants in Elm Grove House in Birr.
Up until the end of May this year, the premises was being used as accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.
The State says support services in the area have been informed of the move and are preparing additional supports needed to assist people settle in to the community.
