If hauliers have to pay more for fuel, customers will see an immediate, inflationary impact on the grocery shelves according to the Vice President of the Irish Road Haulage Association.
Eamon Ryan is saying some of the Government supports keeping fuel prices low, such as excise and VAT changes, will likely be reversed in March.
Laois' Ger Hyland believes the cost of doing business is forcing people out of the industry, and that there's already a lack of skilled workers and long waiting lists for sourcing new vehicles.
