Almost one in four Garda stations around the country have fewer Gardaí now than they had one year ago.
An analysis of staffing levels at over 560 Garda stations nationwide has revealed 133 stations suffered a drop in garda numbers.
It also highlighted how the number of smaller stations without a dedicated Garda continues to grow - up from 35 in 2021 to 42 last year.
Meanwhile in the midlands, it was a mixed bag while Mullingar is down 8 to 117, Athlone now has 77 officers, up from 62, Tullamore has 83 - an increase of 18, while Portloaise has grown its force by - up to 149.
