Record-Breaking Number Of People On Trolleys

38 people are waiting for a bed in the midlands.

669 people including 28 children are on trolleys in hospitals around the country today.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says its extremely concerning, and called for capacity from the private sector to be provided immediately.

There are 38 people on trolleys in the midlands - 24 in Tullamore, 10 in Mullingar and 4 in Portlaoise.

University Hospital Limerick is experiencing the worst overcrowding, followed by Cork University Hospital, Letterkenny University Hospital, and St. James' Hospital in Dublin.

The INMO is demanding the HSE takes immediate action in the worst hit spots.
