A man lost his life while swimming in the region over the weekend.
Another scorching day lies ahead today.
Met Éireann's status yellow high temperature warning could see it getting as hot as 32 degrees in places.
The highest heat in the country yesterday was recorded in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, which hit 29.3 degrees.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather has the outlook:
The Irish Coastguard is warning people not to swim in an area they're not familiar with.
Three people died while swimming last week, including a man in his 60s who got into difficulty while swimming at Derryounce Lake in Portarlington on Saturday.
Gerard O'Flynn from Coastguard Operations says people need to ensure their safety on the water:
The ESB has also issued a reminder on the dangers and potentially serious consequences of swimming in any ESB reservoir.
These areas are not appropriate for swimming because of the risk of deep and fast-flowing waters, changing water levels and uneven ground.
These waters include the reservoirs Golden Falls and Leixlip in County Kildare.
