An evaluation report by the Department of Health found spending has increased by 66% since 2014, to almost €23 billion this year.
However, Regional Hospital Portlaoise saw the smallest increasing in spending, while both Tullamore and Mullingar are also in the bottom seven in terms of additional funding.
