A midlands councilor says there is a concerted effort by some council officials to prevent representatives dealing with them directly.
Portlaoise's Caroline Dwane Stanley says reps need access to administrators, as working remotely causes long delays in resolving issues.
She says in one instance she waited over six weeks for a response to her queries.
The Director of Services stated that this kind of engagement will not happen in future as public interaction is to be reduced.
