They will be on the lookout for drink-driving and speeding offences.
Gardaí will be out in force in the midlands over the bank holiday weekend, monitoring road usage.
There will be a particular emphasis on intoxicated driving, speeding, seatbelt offences, and using a mobile phone while driving.
There have been 101 deaths on Irish roads so far this year, 10 of those were in the midlands.
An Garda Síochana's Road Safety Campaign will be in place until Wednesday.
