Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick representatives won't sit again in the area until September.
Councillors in Laois are arguing over a decision to postpone their monthly meetings until the end of the summer.
A motion to postpone the July meeting for Borris-in-Ossory/ Mountmellick means that reps won't sit again in the area until September.
Five of the six councillors in the area voted for the motion, leaving Independent James Kelly alone in opposing it.
He says he's promised to raise issues for those who voted him into office last year.
Fianna Fail's Paddy Bracken said the meeting should be postponed to help manage council staff's workload.
He added he thought Councillor Kelly's opposition was for publicity purposes.
