RTE's "Cock And Bull" Story Doesn't Check Out Says PAC Chair

The Oireachtas Media and Public Accounts Committees will seek to compel the State broadcaster to appear before them again.

"A load of cock and bull" is how the chair of the Public Accounts Committee is describing elements of RTE's documentation of their payments to Ryan Tubridy.

It comes as the publication of a second Grant Thornton report revealed that two separate excel documents, breaking down Mr. Tubridy's pay, were sent to those within the State broadcaster and to his agent.

€120,000 was labelled as "exit fee forgone" in RTE's document, and "cross-platform loyalty fee" in the one sent to NK Management.

Laois Offaly TD and Sinn Fein's Brian Stanley isn't convinced by the term used for Noel Kelly's version of the file:

The Oireachtas Media and Public Accounts Committees want to hear from the board and management team at the State broadcaster again as a matter of urgency.
