New figures from the Housing Agency show the figure has increased in Offaly and Westmeath.
There was a significant decline in the number of residents in Laois receiving social housing supports last year.
The figure in the county was 600 in 2023, down from 702 the year prior, according to the latest report from the Housing Agency.
However, the number of homes receiving supports in Offaly soared by over 16%, with a total of 516 in 2023, while the figure in Westmeath also jumped by 1%.
Over 58,000 households qualified for social housing supports last year, the highest number living in Dublin City, at over 12,000, and the fewest in Leitrim, at just under 200.
