The pandemic means will be going a second year without the traditional parades.
St. Patrick's Day committees in the midlands are getting creative this year to mark the occasion.
Tyrrellspass is hosting a virtual parade, which will allow participants to submit a video singing, dancing or with a mini float.
Those involved will then edit the footage and hope to broadcast it on their social media platforms.
Laois County Council is also discussing replacing the traditional celebration with a virtual event.
The Tyrrellpass chairperson, Suzie Corcoran, says they're expecting a large volume of submissions:
