Councillors in Westmeath want to know how much taxpayers money was wasted on a failed IPAS centre in the county.
The local authority in Westmeath is now opening an enforcement file to clear the remains of the Lissywollen site in Athlone.
It comes after a long-running campaign by four four Councillors in the town objecting to construction of the 1,000 person capacity centre.
A November High Court decision ultimately led to the closure of the site.
