Nine detections were made at checkpoints for green and red diesel fuel.
Gardaí in Westmeath are saying 'Green doesn't mean go', after a number of seizures of marked gas oil in the county.
It comes after checkpoints in Mullingar, Castlepollard, and Athlone targeting the use of green and red diesel.
In total there were nine detections of marked fuel.
Meanwhile the checkpoints led to two vehicles being detained - one for the driver being disqualified and another for having no insurance.
Gardaí also issued a number of fixed charge notices for no tax displayed and unaccompanied learner drivers.
A premises in Athlone was also searched as a result of an indication by the search Dog.
