Westmeath Man's Journey To The Winter Olympics Part Of New Documentary

It was the first time Ireland appeared at the winter games.

The journey of a Westmeath man and his team-mates in the 1992 Irish bobsleigh team is being captured in a feature length documentary. 

Athlone's Gerry Macken was an elite rower before he was recruited to be part of the first ever Irish team in the event in 1986. 

Breaking ICE featured in the Chicago film festival earlier this year and will also be part of the 2020 Galway film fleadh.
