Westmeath Sees Unemployment Levels Of Over 21%

It's three points lower in Laois and Offaly.

Unemployment levels in Laois and Offaly are among the lowest in Ireland.

Figures obtained by the Irish Independent show counties with a high tourism market are the worst hit.

17 per cent of workers in Laois and Offaly were on benefits due to the pandemic in November.

While in Westmeath, the unemployment level was 21 per cent.

All three counties had unemployment levels of 6 per cent in September 2019.
