Mullingar's Hazel Behan is the founder an advocacy and support organisation for sexual assault victims.
A Westmeath woman says she still feels fear when it comes to the man she alleges raped her.
Christian Brueckner was released from prison in North Germany last month for the rape a 72 year old American woman in Portugal in 2005.
Mullingar's Hazel Behan was violently sexually assaulted in Portugal in 2004, and is currently bringing a case to the European Court of Human Rights against the investigating authorities in Portugal over their handling of the case for which Mr Bruckner was acquitted in Germany last year.
The German is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Ms Behan has since founded an advocacy and support organisation for sexual assault victims called Éist.
She says his release has affected her despite her best efforts:
