The new building will be based on the grounds of a derelict hotel.
Work on a new multi-million euro school building in the midlands has gotten underway.
The new build for Oaklands College will be based on the grounds of a former hotel in Edenderry, which Councillor Noel Cribbin says had issues with drugs and anti-social behaviour.
There were also concerns raised of teenagers running along the structure.
The new development will cater to over 1,000 students and more than 100 teachers and staff.
In a post on Facebook, the Fine Gael rep says the building "will see Edenderry well into the future."
