Crashes resulting in life-changing injuries declined by 20% in Westmeath in 2023, when compared to the year previous.
But collisions leading to non-serious injuries jumped by a third.
Cases of intoxicated driving in the county were up 5 percent - with 117 more cases of drug driving last year.
Drivers caught on the road with either no tax, no NCT, no insurance or an unaccompanied learner driver also soared by over 50%.
In Westmeath last year, there were 6 fatalities on the roads, compared to 2 in 2022.
