A survey was carried out by a local TD.
A survey of just under 1,000 students in Westmeath and Longford has found that three quarters are pessimistic about the Leaving Cert examinations taking place as normal.
In total 1,557 students, teachers and parents took part in the questionnaire, the findings of which will be presented to the Education Minister.
Just under 50% of respondents favour a mix of calulated grades and examinations, while more than a third want pre-determined grades only.
The most conclusive finding was that 88% feel greater leeway is needed with submission dates for projects in some subjects.
