The appeals board considering the sacking of Enoch Burke from a Westmeath school will not meet this weekend following a legal challenge from the teacher.
The Irish Independent is reporting the Disciplinary Appeals Board has told the High Court a scheduled hearing in Athlone tomorrow will not take place and no further steps will be taken for the time being.

His dismissal came in January 2023 for gross misconduct after a public confrontation with Wilson's Hospital School over their request that a student be referred to by their chosen pronouns.
The history and German teacher is challenging the fairness of the procedures involved in the panel's processes, Justice Emily Farrell adjourned the case until the 21st of January.
