The option is only available in third level exams here.
There are calls for students with dyslexia to be given more time in State exams.
Dyslexic students in France, Italy and the UK are given at least 25% more time in exams at second-level, but that option isn't available here.
The call comes as the second day of the Junior and Leaving Cert is due to get underway soon - 6th years will sit Engineering and English Paper 2, while 3rd years have Irish and Geography.

Currently, students with learning difficulties can get help reading exam papers - but not additional time.
Ms. Kearns agrees that timing does add extra pressure:
