Almost every cinema in the country will be taking part.
Reduced cinema tickets will be on offer around the midlands this weekend in honour of National Cinema Day.
The annual event sees tickets dropped to €5, with five cinemas in the region participating on Saturday - three of those are in Westmeath, with one each in Laois and Offaly.
Last year, the day saw more than 217,000 people make a trip to watch a movie.
Speaking to Midlands 103, Director of Oscar Nominated An Cailín Ciúin, Colm Bairéad, is encouraging people around the region to celebrate the day:
IMC and Omniplex Cinemas in Mullingar, and IMC Cinema in Athlone are the sites participating in the annual event in Westmeath.
While Odeon in Portlaoise, and IMC Cinema in Tullamore, are also offering reduced ticket prices this Saturday.
Over 99% of cinemas in the country will participate in the initiative, offering new and recent releases for audiences to experience, including family favourites.
Some of the movies on offer this weekend include Deadpool and Wolverine, Alien: Romulus and Despicable Me 4.
