The reduction will amount to €1,000, and was one of the measures announced in the Budget.
Students in TUS and SETU will benefit from nearly €3 million in funding, which can be used to help with books and class materials, rent, childcare, and transport.
It comes as part as part of the Student Assistance Fund, an investment of over €17 million nationwide.
Over €1 million has been allocated to students in TUS, while €1.7 million will benefit those in SETU.
It was one of the measures announced in this year's Budget, but Further and Higher Education Minister Simon Harris announced further details on the measure today.
Also included in government plans to bring down the cost-of-living for those in third-level education was another annual reduction of €1,000 in the contribution fees.
