Disagreement Among Offaly Councillors On How To Engage With Bord Na Móna

It's felt the meeting wouldn't be productive if all 19 councillors attended.

It's impossible for a delegation of 19 people to be productive and in-sync about community development.

That's the view of Offaly councillor John Leahy, who believes a selection of five representatives would be better suited to meet Bord na Móna on the Just Transition.

The motion was rejected, with Fianna Fáil's Frank Moran stating 'everyone should get a chance to speak.'

Independent rep Leahy thinks the focus of discussions should be solely on job creation and says time is of the essence:
