Farming Independent Journalist Martin Coughlan believes there's more to consider than just Mercosur.
Farm organisations have taken their eye off the ball when it comes to the most pressing matters.
That's according to Farming Independent Journalist Martin Coughlan following a major protest in Athlone at the weekend over the Mercosur Trade Deal.
He believes the people who attended the protest wanted to make a statement on rural Ireland and the importance of it.
Meanwhile factory agents signalled this week that the worst of the beef price pressure may be over.
Bullocks are currently at €7 a kilo, with heifers varying from €7 to €7.10 a kilo.
