The World Ploughing Contest is also scheduled to take place in Laois this year.
The final decision on this year's National Ploughing Championships will be made in May.
The National Ploughing Association says planning is currently underway for the four day event in Laois - the event was postponed last year due to the pandemic.
The World Ploughing Contest is also being held on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th of September in Ratheniska.
