Government's Forestry Negligence To Blame For Coillte Deal Outrage

Coillte's deal with a British asset management company has been met with objections.

A midlands TD believes much of the outrage over Coillte's partnership with a British investment fund, is because of the government's neglect of forestry in Ireland.

It comes as politicians and farming organisations are calling for a rethink on a deal that they believe could price farmers out of the land market.

It's believed Coillte and asset management company Gresham House do not require sign-off from government.
