The Green Party is holding a second meeting today to consider whether to open programme for government talks with Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.
The party is split on an approach from the two parties for further discussions.
Some feel a reply from Leo Varadkar and Micheál Martin to their concerns did not go nearly far enough, as it doesn't explicitly commit to a 7 per cent annual reduction in carbon emissions.
Others in the party view it as progress and a basis for further talks.
